IndiaonDecember1assumedthemonthlyrotatingPresidencyoftheSecurityCouncil,the2dtimeafterAugust2021thatIndiaispresidingovertheCouncilall overitstwoyeartenureaselectedUNSCmember.
“IamjoyfultoissueyouthatwehavedeclaredourcandidatureforoursubsequenttenureattheSecurityCouncilfor2028-29,”SJaishankaracknowledged.
