Fish import will most seemingly be partially banned in Himachal Pradesh from the next fiscal, recount Fisheries Minister Virendra Kanwar stated on Wednesday.

He stated the fish import permits would be issued easiest in favour of registered contractors by the department.

Conserving in behold the interests of the fishermen and to be optimistic the protection of their employment, the fish import is being partially banned within the total districts.

Kanwar stated about 10,000 households within the recount are angry by the fishery commerce. Fishing is being achieved in chilly water, riverine areas, ponds and reservoirs of the recount.

About 5,500 oustee households are straight away linked with fishing commerce with the Maharana Pratap Pong Dam and the Gobind Sagar Reservoir, the most critical reservoirs of the recount.

Despite the supply of correct species of fish within the recount, correct costs of fish are no longer being dispute within the market, mainly as a consequence of the usual import of fish in astronomical portions within the recount, he added.
